SUMMARY:Tampa Police Memorial Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Mayor Jane Castor and Chief Mary O’Connor\, along with the Tampa Police Memorial Committee\, will pay tribute to all fallen officers and their family members on Monday May 9th at 7:00 PM\, in front of the Monument to Fallen Officers at One Police Center. The ceremony will include a 21-Gun Salute\, Riderless Horse\, Bagpipes\, Taps\, and a Flyover by the Tampa Police Aviation Unit. The public is invited to join the men and women of the Tampa Police Department as we honor our thirty-two fallen officers\, and those across the nation\, who lost their lives in the performance of their duties.\n\nAccording to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial\, since the first known line-of-duty death in 1786\, more than 22\,000 U.S. law enforcement officers have made the ultimate sacrifice. This includes the thirty-two officers from the Tampa Police Department we will honor at our Memorial Ceremony.
